“A voice of gold” is how Swansea’s Evening Post defines Singer-Songwriter Caroline Harrison.
Originally born in Kent, it could have been a very different musical story for Caroline but a family move to rural West Wales in 1997 went on to help shape what looks to be a very promising career in music.
Growing up listening to the Mamas & the Papas, Dusty Springfield, Dionne Warwick and many more it is evident that this era has very much inspired her own sound.
Strong vocal harmonies balance against an almost fragile vocal at times making her music not only thought provoking but extremely uplifting and certainly reminiscent of good times gone by.
Having one of her songs successfully placed in a Brazilian Soap Opera series with over 28 million viewers led on to securing a Publishing deal with Peer Music in November 2010 and since then she has traveled extensively gaining much credit as a Songwriter globally.
Over the past few months Caroline has continued to build on her ever increasing fan base playing a number of successful sets on both London’s Acoustic circuit and across the UK. She has been recording her debut EP out in Stockholm with the acclaimed Peter Kvint behind the production.
Her debut Single ‘Beyond the Darkened Sky’ was released on June 17th and has been gaining much momentum with over 170 Radio Stations in the UK and Europe getting behind it, including, Smooth Radio, BBC 6 Music Steve Lemacq & BBC Radio Wales.
The single has also been play listed on over 72 stations in the UK, with BBC Radio Wales naming her ‘Welsh Artist of the Week’ during the launch week.
Caroline was recently invited to perform live for the BBC Radio Wales Music Day and has been supported by BBC Introducing after taking part in the BBC Introducing Master Class in Cardiff.
Recent support slots have included opening for Texas in association with the Love Live Music campaign for Smooth Radio, Charlotte Church, Jodie Marie and a very successful 8-date tour of Germany supporting Livingston.
With the EP complete and the second single set for release this autumn, 2013 looks to be an exciting year for Caroline.
